The restaurant is well-known for the best Calamari in Cape Town enjoyed on the large sun-drenched terrace, with breathtaking views of the bay and beach. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".

The Chapmans Peak Restaurant was established over 30 years ago. It has become the grand old lady of outdoor seafood restaurants in Cape Town, with decades of worldwide reputation for its famous calamari and seafood. The sun-drenched terrace, ideal for those hot summer days and lingering sunsets, has spectacular view of the beach, Atlantic Ocean and harbour activities in the background. As for the chilly days, enjoy the welcome warmth of the fireplaces indoors.

Drop in for a drink; wine aplenty, local and imported beers on tap and all the variety of drinks you can imagine are on offer to seduce your taste buds or book a table for a delicious meal. The restaurant inside will take you back to an era almost forgotten, with its wood finishes and pictures from the past. Take a stroll into the wine cellar and choose your favourite bottle of vintage red wine or peruse the extensive wine list to accompany your meal. The menu offers a variety of seafood items from West Coast Lobster (crayfish), Prawns and Fresh Fish or combinations thereof. The house speciality being succulent Calamari, served in the pan, renowned for being the most tender and tastiest Calamari in the World.

Seafood might be the speciality of the restaurant, but grilled steaks and succulent salads are also on offer. The Portuguese Steak, a signature dish, along with Calamari as one of the most popular dishes on the menu.

Please note bookings can not be made for Sunday lunch time. All bookings will be made for inside the restaurant as outside tables are not bookable.

"mixed feelings. The meat special was great value for money but our waiter was distant and did not smile until we had finished main courses. The runner who dropped off the food got the order mixed up and we only reaslised after we had eaten out steaks. When we complained to your waiter about this he said it was her fault as she was not properly trained!!!!!!!!!!!! Am also really shocked that they charged us for bread- then cleared it away before we had finished eating it. still not sure if i would go back again"
