Hudsons (Claremont)

THERE IS NOTHING ORDINARY ABOUT A HUDSONS BURGER.
So much more than a patty and a roll, our burger is more of a culinary art form, but without all that fuss about the way it looks on the plate. What we do create a fuss about is the quality of the ingredients. Let's start with the meat. Only two specialised cuts of house-ground beef are selected, which explains why it doesn't just taste deliciously succulent, but is also nearly 20% leaner than your average burger.

AND THEN IT'S TIME FOR THE TOPPINGS...
We source all ingredients locally wherever possible and most of the toppings are handmade on the premises every day. There's something special about freshly roasted garlic mayonnaise or a delectable onion marmalade that caramelises to perfection after eight hours on a slow heat. We're also particularly proud of our unique mint-and-jalapeno salsa recipe. In fact, our menu reveals a great deal about our enthusiasm for new ideas. Like a burger with tomato relish, biltong dust chilli cream cheese and sliced battered jalapeno rings. Some call it gourmet, we prefer just innovative.

IF YOU DON'T EAT BEEF, YOU CAN STILL EAT A BURGER.
You could opt for the popular Ba-rack-o-lama, or La Di Dah with ostrich. (We did say our burgers weren't ordinary!) And vegetarians are certainly not expected to compromise. The delicious chickpea and lentil burger with fresh goat's cheese and avo is a favourite even with the meat eaters.

IT'S AN EXPERIENCE YOU WILL WANT TO REPEAT.
Inspired by the authentic American-style diner, with leather benches and wooden tables, Hudsons is comfortably old-school but set to the soundtrack of contemporary city life. Even the friendly check-shirted waitresses can be seen singing along to Sweet Home Alabama as they deliver rounds of Hudsons Pale Ale Draughts to their tables.
